Puffy Floor Mat – FREE Pattern

Remember my Puff Quilt pattern from a few months ago? It’s one of my favorite designs I’ve ever released, and I’ve been really wanting to find the time to create another pattern in a similar concept!

When Joann Fabrics reached out with a collaboration idea this summer, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to create the next puffy pattern!

Introducing the Puffy Floor Mat!! This design came from the desire for additional living room seating! Too often when my husband and I host a movie night, somebody ends up on the floor. Now, I can easily pull out this floor mat for an additional, comfortable cushion!

This would also make an adorable addition to a reading nook or cozy crochet spot!

Before we dive into the pattern, here’s the yarn info:

Joann kindly provided me with 7 skeins of Bernat Blanket Extra Thick. To reflect the style of my puff quilt, I wanted to go colorful again! I was pleasantly surprised to fins that this yarn has !!33!! Color options at Joann.com! There are 17 solid colored options and 16 variegated options. This means that there are over 4 MILLION different color combinations when you purchase 7 skeins! So much room for personal creative style!

NOW TO THE PATTERN

MATERIALS

• Yarn: Bernat Blanket Extra Thick (7 JUMBO), 7 skeins (504yds)
• Hook: 19mm hook (shop here)
• Scissors
• Flexible tape measure

NOTES

• My finished measurements are 24” wide x 56” long. Each puff square is 8” x 8”., so you can make this Puffy Floor Mat any size you’d like, in 8” segments.
• I used 7 skeins of Bernat Blanket Extra Thick to make 21 squares. Then, I attached them 3 across and 7 high
• 1 skein of Bernat Blanket will make 3 puff squares, so keep this in mind when planning your colors.
