I don’t know about you… but I have accumulated quite the yarn collection during 2023. I discovered many new indie yarn dyers who create the most beautiful colorways! I let myself splurge (maybe a little too much). But hey, it was all in the name of supporting other fiber artists, right? 😉
Going into the new year, I am determined to work through my stash this year. But if we’re being honest, I don’t even remember what yarn I have or what projects I may or may not have in mind for them! I need a better system…
Which is where the Yarn Inventory Sheet comes into play! I created a sheet that I can use to track alllll of my yarn. I can also note if I already have a project or design idea in mind for them. That way, when an idea pops back into my head, I can check the Yarn Inventory Sheet before running to buy new yarn.
Whether you’re a designer or a maker, a budget yarn collector or a hand-dyed yarn collector, a pro at working through your stash or a proud yarn hoarder… this FREE download is for you! You can print it out or fill it out on your tablet with a note-taking app, such as Noteability or Goodnotes.
Let me show you how it works.
In the chart, you can list the brand, colorway (or color), weight of yarn (sock, worsted, etc) and how many skeins or yards you have, You can even indicate if you already have a project in mind for this yarn – no judgment from me if you don’t, though 😉
Here’s one of my examples:
I have 3 skeins of Sewrella Yarn in sport weight, and the best news is that I already have a project picked out for this yarn! Now you might be wondering… what does the page number indicate? I’ll get to that in a moment.
For now… Are you ready for your FREE download?! Fill out this form below, and your freebie Yarn Inventory Sheet will be delivered right to your inbox.
The Yarn Inventory Sheet is a great start to getting your yarn stash organized for the coming year. Now, let’s take it a step further!
When adding a new line on your sheet, you can indicate if you already have a project and mind. You’ll notice that there is also a page number at the end. This is in reference to a project plan and design plan sheets that I’ve made to go along with your free Yarn Inventory Sheet! Here’s a peek at the design plan version:
There is also a sheet for general project planning that looks very similar! You can indicate the name of the pattern you are using, the designer’s name, and all of the same information that you can add to the sheet above.
Oh, and did I mention that you can get the Yarn Inventory Sheet and planning sheets in 5 different colors for the price of one?! Use all one color or mix and match!
Tap here to grab the full set with all 3 planning pages – the Yarn Inventory Sheet, the Design Plan sheet, and the Project Plan sheet, with access to all 5 colors. HINT: if you sign up to get the free yarn inventory sheet first, you’ll get a big discount code for the rest of the pages 😉
I hope these pages are a useful tool for you to enter a new year feeling organized and refreshed! I feel so much better having a game plan for my yarn stash, so that I don’t overwhelm myself further in 2024.
